We are currently working with a Transport business based in South East Wales who have seen an unprecedented growth period over recent years. As the business continues to grow, they are now looking to employ a Working Chargehand. This individual will have a strong background in the PSV engineering sector and will be able to demonstrate previous experience in delivering results. You must be enthusiastic and be able to motivate yourself and the people around you. The role is a working chargehand, so you will need to be involved in the daily workload, as well as managing others.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Head Of Engineering
- The day to day planning and delivery of the Engineering Function
- Managing 2 engineers
- Maintaining approximately 30 vehicles
- Planned maintenance
- Running repairs
- Service failure management
- Maximum productivity
- Encouraging teamwork
- Identify shortcomings
- Suggesting structural or systemic changes
- Improve efficiencies
- Managing staff
- Reporting key performance indicators
- A sound engineering background in the maintenance/repair of passenger carrying or large goods vehicles, including a comprehensive knowledge of vehicle systems
- Ability to defined budgetary limits
- Knowledge of DVSA legislation, maintenance procedures and working arrangements
- Should have gained an engineering qualification to at least NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
Location: Newport, South East Wales

Salary: £30,000 - £31,000 per annum
