Description

Platform Resourcing is looking for a Service Manager to join an Engineering department in the Caerphilly area. The role will include daily interaction with Blue Chip customers, ensuring they are receiving the service levels expected from your team. This is a key position that will require strong, proven and successful people management experience as well as the drive and commitment to achieve KPI’s.

Benefits:

  • Salary of up to £30,000 but negotiable for the right experience
  • Hours Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm
  • 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the day-to-day operational functions of the Service department
  • Ensuring staff manage remote engineers to provide the most cost and time effective routes using their geographical knowledge, minimising travel and maximising productive working time
  • Review and produce daily reports (highlighting and managing any staff errors in advance)
  • Manage team absences, annual leave and sickness
  • Resolve customer service issues, directly liaise with customers when necessary to provide solution
  • KPI management/ Performance Assessment & Competitive Excellence
  • Hiring, training and retention of staff
  • Expense control
  • Implementing best practise for the efficient running of the department

Position requirements:

  • Experience of managing a customer service team within an Engineering environment/ business
  • People management – motivating, influencing and helping to achieve KPI’s
  • Experience of running reports
  • Experience of managing staff rota’s, sickness and annual leave
  • Experience of interviewing and inducting new staff members
  • Ability to extract, collate and present data to the management team
  • Experience of liaising with other internal departments to check service information, stock availability and request changes/ support
  • Excellent planning, organising, prioritisation, and project management skills
  • I.T. Literate in all Microsoft Packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Confident and professional telephone manner – direct contact with customers
  • Able to demonstrate ability to work effectively in a pressurised and at times, extremely busy environment.
