Logistics Business Development Manager - Covering the Midlands
The client we are working with is highly successful and provides logistical solutions across Road, Sea and Air with the ultimate business objective of improving their clients’ transport service levels whilst reducing costs. The ideal candidate will have Business Development experience within either logistics, manufacturing or engineering. They will have proven ability to hit and exceed sales targets and be able to build excellent long term relationships with customers to be able to maximise business potential within each business.
Benefits:
- Salary of up to £50,000 basic (highly negotiable) with experience as well as excellent uncapped bonus package
- Work from office min 1 day of your choice per week and from home/ out on the road other days

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a successful career history to date with the following experience:
- Developing and maintaining a pipeline of potential business
- Developing new clients and supporting with retention and maximising opportunities
- Developing new business opportunities
- Create and pursue contract opportunities
- Working with company directors in providing new business forecasting
- Involvement in the development of sales presentation and pricing structures
- Attending and representing the business on networking and hospitality events
- Work closely with the marketing team to create new business opportunities specific to target area
- Support and develop cross sell opportunities
- Ensure CRM system is updated and maintain detailed activity reporting
- Produce and present monthly sales and customer data
- Retained client relationships and ensuring maintained standards
- Support operational team in the mobilisation of new contracts
- Undertake client service reviews
- Maintain individual new business margin above company standards Benefits provided
Essential Experience and qualities:
- Ability to work independently
- A knowledge of either Logistics, Transport, Manufacturing or Engineering industry sales
- Self-driven to achieve targets
- A proven track record in selling services and achieving targets/ KPI's
- Experience in contract developments and tenders
- Experience in providing sales and costing presentations
- Good understanding and working knowledge of CMR systems
- Experience to working to a budget
- …and Good sense of humour
